iTunes Movies is their strategy all wrong?

Wednesday, June 21st, 2006

Picture 11.pngIt has been reported that Apple plans to implement the same pricing model for its Movies downloads as it does for its music downloads. But as iTWire points, these are two very different consumers. It reports that “there is only one problem. Movies are not music tracks and movie consumers are not music consumers. People buy music and rent movies. Yes some people will buy a DVD of a movie classic or of a movie they particularly like. However, it is the exception rather than the rule. Very few consumers, other than fanatical movie buffs keep vast collections of DVDs loaded with their favourite movies. Perhaps Jobs thinks he can turn movie renters into movie buyers simply by offering downloads on iTunes but it’s a pipe dream. There’s only so many times you can watch Spiderman and, if it’s not on cable this month, you can rent it from Blockbuster.”

No Google in China

Monday, June 12th, 2006

google.jpgIn most parts of china google.com has been blocked! The block apparently is also spreading to google news and mail services. The Daily Times reports :

A Beijing-based Google spokeswoman said Wednesday the company was looking into the apparent effort to block its most widely used search engine, but declined any other comment. “We launched an investigation last week,” spokeswoman Cui Jin said. “As long as we don’t have more certain information, it would be irresponsible for us to comment more.”

Reporters Without Borders also said the Chinese authorities had largely managed to neutralize software designed to sidestep censorship since late May.

Friday, June 9th, 2006
browsersync.gif

We all love to browse the net, but what happens when the PC crashes, ‘we throw it out the window in a fit of rage’ (if you are a windows user - you know what I mean). This is now a thing of the past with Google Browser Sync you can synchronize your settings, history, passwords and all that stuff on Google!

“Google Browser Sync for Firefox is an extension that continuously synchronizes your browser settings – including bookmarks, history, persistent cookies, and saved passwords – across your computers. It also allows you to restore open tabs and windows across different machines and browser sessions.”

This extension works with Firefox version 1.5 and later. Currently, it doesn’t work in the Mozilla Suite, Internet Explorer, or Opera. Google Browser Sync is compatible with all operating systems supported by Firefox 1.5.
