The rapper will star in a, as of yet, untitled film! He has joined with New Line Cinema and a production company called Anonymous Content. The film will be inspired by his music.

Michael Jackson’s employess finally get paid!

Thursday, March 16th, 2006

Jackson’s employees for his Neverland Ranch are finally getting paid, which is sure to be a relief for the staff as the last time ‘Jackos’ payroll issued a wage was well before Christmas! The amount being paid out is said to be in the area of $300,000. The deadline, state enforced, for paying the amount owed to the employees, set by the state, was Tuesday, but later extended until Wednesday.

The animals of the park are now being cared for by the authority for the area.

Jackson who is currently living in Bahrain, has denied the recent tabloid reports that he intends to re-locate to the UK.

His finances have been a hot media topic for the past few years, and have been a focus of the child molestation trial against him, during 2005, of which he was cleared of all charges. DO

No Playstation 3 until November

Thursday, March 16th, 2006

PS3Everyone expected it would be Spring, but alas not until November, will gamers have access to a Playstation 3. The unit, which we are told will be available in multiple colours, will launch in November with a worldwide release, according to ‘Ken Kutaragi’ of Sony Playstation.

The delay is good news for Microsoft though, as it allows just enough time for it to fix it’s short supply of 360 Gaming systems, and they will also be able to do a bit more promotion. Gamer’s are not very patient people, but they would have waited until Spring for a Playstation 3, with 360’s becoming more plenty full and with more games, they may just buy one of those instead.
So what will make the Playstation 3 so good?

“PS3 incorporates the final specifications of BD (Blu-ray Disc), and with the overwhelming computing power of PS3, it enables to playback BD software at a high bit rate. With a maximum storage capacity of 50 GB (dual layer) and robust security, BD is a highly anticipated storage medium that delivers digital entertainment content such as games and movies at an unparalleled level of image quality.

PS3 is compatible with a vast lineup of television sets currently out in the market, from standard-definition TV to full high-definition TV.

Users can also connect PS3 to high-speed broadband network through Gigabit Ethernet and comfortably enjoy a wide-range of rich and exciting content and services over the network.

SCEI, together with the support and cooperation of game content creators around the world, will strongly promote the creation of a new world of computer entertainment available on PS3.” (Sony Press Release) DO

Isaac Hayes Leaves South Park: No more Chef!

Wednesday, March 15th, 2006

ChefLove it or hate it South Park, has been a hit TV show around the world. It’s a show that has laughed at us all, and if you get insulted, you must be ‘un cool’. Everyone’s favorite Chef, woman magnet, and a guru to the Children of South Park, has left the show! That is to say Isaac Hayes, who voices the character, has left the show! After an episode involving his religion Scientology, which also pokes fun at fellow Scientology member Tom Cruise, inviting him to come out of the closet!

Hayes is quoted as saying “There is a place in this world for satire, but there is a time when satire ends and intolerance and bigotry towards religious beliefs of others begins,” the singer said. “Religious beliefs are sacred to people, and at all times should be respected and honoured.”

The shows creators, however see his leaving the show in a different light. Matt Stone (creator) said. “In 10 years and over 150 episodes of ‘South Park,’ Isaac never had a problem with the show making fun of Christians, Muslims, Mormons and Jews. He got a sudden case of religious sensitivity when it was his religion featured on the show. To bring the civil-rights struggle into this is just a non sequitur. Of course we will release Isaac from his contract and we wish him well.” “He’s cashed plenty of checks - with our show making fun of Christian”.
