The ever evolving Google has taken over a new start up company called ‘Writely‘. “Writely allows you to edit documents online with whomever you choose, and then publish and blog them online.” This seems to be part of google’s plan to enter the ‘office’ market, currently dominated by Microsoft. It already offers a 2 Gb e-mail service called gmail and soon, maybe a new service called ‘gdrive’ which information about was leaked by google to the internet in error. Gdrive would let users store the contents of their computers for free!
On google’s weblog Jen Mazzon of Google Writely Team said “For the last five months, I’ve been part of a Silicon Valley startup called Upstartle, which makes Writely, a collaborative word processor that runs in a web browser. Well, as of Monday, I’m happy to say that I, and the rest of the Writely team, are now part of Google”. DO
